Puget Sound Orthopaedics is proud to announce that Dr. John T. Heffernan was recently selected to be a candidate member of the prestigious society known as the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES). Individuals selected to be candidate members of the society must meet strict academic and clinical requirements. Candidate membership in the ASES society is a privilege and an honor that is only awarded to young orthopaedic surgeons who have completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery, elbow surgery, and/or sports medicine.
From 2019 to 2020, Dr. John T. Heffernan excelled in the Shoulder and Elbow Surgery fellowship program at Columbia University in New York City. During both his fellowship and his residency at Tulane University, Dr. Heffernan was mentored by two former presidents of the ASES organization.
What is the ASES Society?
The ASES society seeks to foster and advance the science and practice of shoulder and elbow care. The organization encourages research, arranges educational programs and courses, publicizes scientific materials, hosts annual meetings and more in order to advance the field of shoulder and elbow surgery.
Our Mission: Serving patients, members, and society by advancing shoulder and elbow care
Our Vision: A world where patients have the best shoulder and elbow care
