Spotlight on Sarah Konecny, PA-C

Sarah Konecny, Physician Assistant-Certified recently joined Puget Sound Orthopaedics this February. She went to school at Colorado State University where she got her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science followed by her Master in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Iowa.

When asked why she became a physician assistant she explains, “because it is a profession that combines compassion and education, all while providing care and understanding to people who deserve to be the best version of themselves.” Speaking with patients is what she likes most about the job. “I love interacting with people. I feel like getting to know a patient on a personal and human level is just as important as healing.”

Sarah is working with Dr. Richard Gray, a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements. She is excited about the new and continued upgrades to total joint procedures and the constant changing techniques within orthopedics. “I am excited to see what new research shows regarding the difference between anterior and posterior hip replacements.”

Sarah recently moved to Washington and is eager to travel the area and explore the great Pacific Northwest outdoors. “I grew up in Colorado, so hiking and skiing are at the top of my list.”

As part of her medical rotation, she went to Tanzania, Africa and worked with Child Family Health International. During the trip she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and she says, “It was the best sunrise thus far.”

We think Sarah moved to the right state. When asked “if you were a crayon what color would you be?”, she answered, “Green, it reminds me of nature. I am brand new to Washington and everything is so green here. I can’t wait to make it my home!”
